Meet Our Instructor: Eric Fliszar

At Big Ideas, Inc., we are very lucky to have passionate instructors who are passionate about their trade to teach our courses. In this post, we highlight our GMAW and SMAW Welding Courses Instructor, Eric Fliszar.

We interviewed Eric to learn more about his love for welding and why he believes that exposure to the trades is essential for our upcoming generations.

Why did you choose a career in welding?

I am fascinated by the science behind metallurgy and there are multiple disciplines going on all at one time, like – electricity, thermodynamics and physics.

What education did you receive on your journey to becoming a professional welder?

I received on the job training, my certification as a 1-4 g unlimited thickness to AWS here in New Ulm at Specsys.

What do you love most about welding?

It constantly challenges by creativity and problem-solving abilities.

Why do you believe it is important to expose our youth to welding?

To ensure that young adults earn meaningful and useful skills that are in high demand and will continue to find gainful employment with tangible results.
