Introduce students to basic machine sewing. Equipment inspection and care, basic machine set up, start/stop straight line stitching and turns. Sample project- pillowcase. Projects may vary by location.

Sewing — Reading and using patterns
Introduce students to reading and using patterns and sewing more complex items. Equipment inspection and care, reading patterns, handling paper patterns, measuring, pinning and cutting fabric. Sample project- lounge pants and a top. Projects may vary by location.
