Instructor Spotlight: Rick Louwagie
- Occupation: Infrared thermographer/Electronics Technician/Electrician
- Why did you get started with the trades? I have always had a passion for electronics and all things electrical since I was a young kid. Getting the opportunity to go to a trade school and becoming an electronics technician was the greatest path to follow and build my career in electronics.
- Why do you love the trades? The best thing is the challenges it presents, and the troubleshooting involved is the main thing. You are the professional, the answer guy, and you are always learning and evolving to be the best in your trade. With the ever-changing technologies, you are always striving to be at the top of your game and learning these new skills.
- I have been able to evolve throughout my career and learn different aspects, to branch out and learn new skills.
- Why do you like to share the trades? I was mentored by many great people throughout my career, and I love being able to give back and teach young tradesman who are following the same path. I have never been one to hold back my knowledge and pass it along. One of the most satisfying things is seeing the light bulb turn on in when they see and understand something for the first time.
